The Quality Engineer is a direct production support person on quality-related issues within the department(s) that they cover.  Currently there is a Quality Engineer for:
Extrusion
Fabrication
Finishing, Anodizing, Final Inspection and Pack.
Specific and unique knowledge and requirements may be required for each Quality Engineer based on the area that they cover.
Job Duties/Responsibilities – (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following):

Works closely with Department Manager(s) and Supervisors in their area(s) to identify defective parts or processes and develop methods, processes or procedures to minimize or eliminate the continued occurrences.
Designs and documents procedures for quality-related processes in their areas.
Works with Quality Manager to set quality standards for products and processes.
Works with Quality Manager to determine, set and document cosmetic quality acceptance criteria for products.
Ensures that quality standards, inspection procedures and related processes are followed by all personnel in their area.
Gathers, analyzes and presents data used for discussion and implementation of corrective or preventive actions, and continuous improvement.
Act as leader or facilitator on improvement projects.
Train personnel on topics in their area of responsibility or expertise.
Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
Job Requirements/Qualifications – (Requirements may be modified or amended for reasonable accommodations):

At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality environment.
Demonstrate ability to apply structured problem solving techniques.
Some experience in managing people and/or leading teams.
College degree in quality, engineering or management.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
Knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques and GD&T.
