The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitments/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Job Duties/Responsibilities – (Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following) :

Conducts recruitment efforts for all personnel; coordinates with third party recruiters and staffing agencies; conducts new-employees orientations; and writes and places advertisements
Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; complete pre and post hire screening; comparing qualifications to job requirements and assessing compensation requirements
Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; assisting with job offers and compensation; emphasizing benefits and perks
Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits
Track open requisitions for all positions in the plant and produce a weekly status report for all positions.
Monitor and apply HR best practices
Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution & change reporting
Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations
Maintains HRIS (Paycom), tracks employees, enters information, record and compile reports from the database
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements through training and development; advising management as needed
Builds and distributes benefit packets to new hires. Conducts benefit orientations and keeps the presentation and benefit packets current.
Processes new hire, open enrollment and qualifying event benefit enrollments and changes including COBRA
Monitor and update group term life rates
Process and update 401k loans and withdrawals
Reconciles bi-weekly payroll health deductions and 401k contributions
Assists employees with STD/LTD & FMLA filings and claims. Maintains return to work documentation
Processes Medical Support Notices
Assists employees with Paycom related issues
Assists Benefits Manager in maintaining 401k and ACA compliance and benefit promotions and marketing
Reviews, reconciles and approves monthly health insurance invoices for timely payment
Assists in yearend processes including 12DD, Group Term Life reporting Third Party Sick Pay, ACA Forms 1094 & 1095C and year end checklists provided through Paycom
Assists in other benefit related tasks as required
Job Requirements/Qualifications – (Requirements may be modified or amended for reasonable accommodations) :

B.A. Degree in Human Resources or related field
PHR certification a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Time Management – must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Able to prioritize work activities on a daily basis
Work Experience:

3-5 years of progressive experience in the Human Resource field
Must have strong recruitment and hiring of hourly personnel
Experience working in a manufacturing/plant floor environment required
Experience with payroll and benefit programs
Familiar with employment laws
Experience working with outside vendors
High attention to detail
Strong organization & communication skills
