Description:
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Discovery: Lead discovery to define problems and user needs; translate insights into clear product opportunities and testable hypotheses.
· End-to-End Execution: Design high-quality, accessible interfaces (Web/iOS/Android) and user flows that move the needle on KPIs like activation and task success.
· AI-Augmented Workflow: Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate ideation, automate repetitive tasks (e.g., component variations, documentation), and synthesize large-scale research data.
· System Ownership: Evolve our design system (tokens, components, patterns); drive adoption and governance across platforms with “accessibility by default.”
· Technical Collaboration: Partner deeply with Engineering and PMs to refine requirements, navigate technical constraints, and ensure high-quality Design QA.
· Leadership & Mentorship: Elevate team standards through critiques and documented decision-making; mentor mid/junior designers in craft and strategy.
Education and Experience:
- Product Thinking: Ability to link design decisions directly to business models and success metrics (CSAT, North Star metrics).
· Expert level proficiency in Figma including Auto Layout 6.0, Multi‑mode Variables (for theming, localization, and accessibility), and Logic‑driven Prototyping using conditional variables and expressions to simulate production‑ready app behavior.
· AI Literacy: Proficiency in AI‑driven design tools (e.g., Figma AI/Make) for rapid wireframing and UI exploration.
· Research Synthesis: Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Co‑Pilot) to distill user interviews and feedback into actionable themes.
· Universal Design: Deep knowledge of WCAG 2.2 standards and ethical design patterns (privacy, security, and bias mitigation).
· Communicate strong, evidence‑based points of view; seek out critique and feedback to strengthen designs.
Independently leads ambiguous, cross-channel programs; shapes roadmaps; ships outcomes that measurably move KPIs.
Demonstrates full stack thinking (IA + interaction) and high visual quality; sets quality bars and patterns others adopt; accessibility by default.
Plans lightweight studies; identifies when research is needed; designs and interprets research.
Creates prototypes; writes thorough annotations; anticipates edge cases and global needs; manages scope for velocity and quality.
Influences product strategy with evidence; aligns leadership on problem statements and success metrics; mentors peers.
Converses crisply with front-end engineers on feasibility, componentization, and performance; understands front-end constraints.
Evolves tokens/components/patterns with accessibility baked in; measures adoption and impact on speed/quality.
Applies responsible AI and data practices; designs for transparency, control, and failure modes.
Understands business model, the plan and business needs.
Deep empathy for business owner (customer) needs and customer needs.
